ME!MEME! – written by a girl ;) is a satirical fashion zine informed by the aesthetics and logic of internet culture, meme language and Gen Z image-making. The project explores the concept of self-performance and digital performativity. It approaches fashion as a site of self-construction where identity is styled, performed and continuously revised through acts of self-curation and digital exposure. Referencing self-branding practices and online behaviours, it examines how identity is increasingly produced as content. Centred around a female subject navigating everyday spaces as if she is being seen, the work explores what is often described as “main character syndrome” not as a fixed idea but as a condition shaped by constant self-awareness. Through staged imagery and fragments of text, the zine observes how individuals edit, narrate and perform themselves in real time, revealing a mode of self-presentation that is at once intentional, ironic and quietly unstable.
