Siti Mariam is a multidisciplinary artist who has confidently filled the roles of creative director, stylist and set designer. She stretches herself to explore and step out of her comfort zone with her desire to push boundaries. Unapologetic, bold and forward-thinking, her approach to her craft is often authentically raw and abstract all at once.
I Carry Them Everywhere is an intimate body of work sharing Siti Mariam Binte Mohd Iqbal's journey and process of personal grievance, celebrating creative expression as a catharsis and healing practice. The fashion film reveals layers of uncensored narratives, using Siti Mariam's body as a canvas to embrace the power of vulnerability in four themes, namely Home, Death, Identity and Rebirth.
I Carry Them Everywhere is a film that calls upon revisiting the author’s personal experiences - the unspoken stories of Siti Mariam. It touches on sharp contrasting and mood shifting themes of Home, Death, Identity and Rebirth. Merging the worlds of fashion, film and performance arts, the multi-disciplinary project is an experimental visual and audio experience that reads like an open invitation to draw parallels between Siti’s artistry and personal life. It is Siti Mariam’s most vulnerable work released thus far. The film encourages individuals to look inwards to move forward, be fearless and take chances.
