Deftly moving between fashion and mythological narratives, Sindhu is a fashion stylist who is interested in consciously broadening the scope of contemporary and traditional Indian styles through social issues and story telling. She also seeks to embody a youthful and free spirit that draws inspiration from the current zeitgeist and in return contributes to the cultural sphere.
Just like how the Indian culture is filled with bursting colours, Sindhu Manokaran is inspired to redefine age-old Indian traditions in the contemporary era, thus creating a style that is both rich in Indian aesthetics and modern sophistication. Through a kaleidoscope in which reality fuses with fantasy, Sindhu bring these ideas together in hopes to evoke joy and optimism.
OH MY GODDESS! celebrates the heritage and beauty of modern Indian women. By focusing on the stereotypes and typical characterisation of female roles in Bollywood movies, the publication aims to explore and honour the values of the Indian female goddesses through a contemporary fashion lens. With the use of vibrant and bold themes to portray female figure roles and the mythic elements, OH MY GODDESS! seeks to transform the conventional stereotypes of an Indian woman.
