With an aim to decipher and understand the ways of the world, Jamie’s practice both as a writer and an occasional image-maker is steered by observations of the human state and reflecting on the gap between time, world and self.
Jamie Lee Jie Yi work narratives lean into conveying the authenticity of the human connection, and the complexities of the human emotion. Jie Yi wish to tell stories that document our memories and dreams attached to the ordinary lives.
NATURE OF NORMAL is a response to a disdain for the ordinary in a fast-moving cosmopolitan world. It is a publication that documents the beauty of everyday objects from a fashion lens, via a creative and personal dialogue distinguished by three moments of time.
