SUSU

Hilda Nikita Yusman

Singapore

Nikita is an aspiring Indonesian fashion media practitioner who excels in image-making and fashion styling. Her work embodies her yearning for an authentic and inclusive representation of women in the industry. Through her latest project, she hopes to push the boundaries of the current Indonesian fashion landscape.

The project seeks to challenge the skewed perception of feminists in the public's eye while empowering Indonesian women to reclaim their voice and identity through thought-provoking images, interviews, and artworks.

SUSU is an intersectional feminist publication that aims to celebrate the diverse and multi-layered Indonesian female identities by confronting social, political, and cultural issues Indonesian women face through a fashion lens.

The inaugural issue looks deep into how feminism in Indonesia has progressed through four significant figures; Kartini, the Women's Journals Foundation, Melati Suryodarmo and Ian Hugen.
