Nurul Izzati Bte Abd Rahman

Singapore

Nurul Izzati Bte Abd Rahman loves handcrafting and exploring new crafts that she has never done before because learning new knowledge and being used to it relax her. Nurul also likes Fashion and, in her spare time, dolling herself up.

Nurul Izzati Bte Abd Rahman's design statement is making patchwork out of fabric like batik. Patchwork is putting all different types of fabric together to look bright and colourful.

Alur creates a cultural and western look, where we merge batik with the 70s western look together. the batik is sewn all together in squares as a patchwork because that is one of the elements of a hippie would wear. Putting a batik element to the patchwork and styling it would be interesting.

Alur has a concept of 70s hippies but also a touch of the Malay culture element, Batik. It is an exciting mixture to it --- western and Malay cultures merging.
