Ananta

Tasya Aurellia Putri

Indonesia

Tasya is a final year BA Fashion Design and Textile student in Lasalle College of the Arts, specializing in Textiles and Draping. She mostly takes inspiration from traditional Indonesian folklores and interpret them through a modern perspective. She enjoys playing with textile manipulation and gathers to create texture and volume, as well as overlapping colors to create maximal prints that indulges in her design approach.

Tasya's design statement is creating youthful and modern womenswear that are influenced by her interest that varies from cultural to modern current trends. She aims to give the wearer confidence by redefining contemporary fashion through experimental textiles and silhouettes that flatters the female body.

The collection ‘Ananta’, is inspired by the Antaboga dragons from Indonesia’s Javanese wayang folklore. ‘Ananta’ derived from the name ‘Antaboga’ meaning limitless, is depicted in the collection, making the wearer feel limitless confidence and boldness. The story of the dragon is reflected through the marbling textiles, ruching and smocking as textile manipulation that mimics the dragon’s body as if it’s protecting the wearer, like in the narrative of the past. The collection interprets the traditional context through a modern perspective. Exuding the concept of youth and luxury, the addition of glitter screenprint and sequin embroidery are also incorporated into the partywear collection.

Partywear collection with maximal textile direction and cultural inspiration, its sustainable design approach conveyed through flexibility from ruching and smocking.
