Edeline Surya works across fashion, image-making and digital platforms, focusing on how people engage with what they wear and buy. Her work explores everyday behaviours and habits that gradually turn into patterns that build a system. She is interested in the tension between knowing and doing, especially in relation to fashion and consumption. Rather than approaching this through solutions, she focuses on observation, using visual work to reflect familiar behaviours back to the viewer. Her practice is grounded in making work that feels immediate and recognisable, using fashion as a way to question how we act, not just what we wear.

GLUT is a satirical digital fashion publication that explores why we continue to consume despite knowing better. Presented as an interactive website, it mirrors the cycle of consumption through surreal imagery, looping interactions and familiar shopping behaviours driven by desire, repetition and aftermath. GLUT reflects everyday consumption habits back to the viewer, inviting them to recognise themselves within this cycle of consumption—where awareness exists, yet the behaviour continues. GLUT is built as a three-act experience that moves from desire to repetition to emptiness. By focusing on individual behaviour and using looping interactions, the project allows users to experience the cycle themselves, reinforcing how awareness does not always lead to change.
