Residual is a Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear collection that reinterprets 1960s fashion through experimental textiles and marine-inspired design. Natural dye monoprinting, hand-crafted bio-sequins, and fabric manipulation are used to create garments that feel playful, feminine and texturally rich. Influenced by Impressionism, the collection layers colour, translucency and graphic surfaces in biomimicry mirroring marine life. Informed by the movement of jellyfish and the iridescence of oyster shells, Gizelle's collection is identified by its fluid silhouettes and light-reactive materials. Responding to issues of microplastic pollution and harmful chemicals in the textile industry, Residual focuses on reducing microfiber shedding and chemical waste in the dye process. By collaborating with small-scale regional suppliers, Gizelle also supports local production and low-waste craftsmanship. Natural, biodegradable and sustainable: this is Residual.
