DRESS:CODED is a visual publication examining the tension between uniformity and individuality through the lens of Singaporean secondary school uniforms. Combining fashion, photography, and storytelling, the project revisits girlhood in the 2010s — a period marked by discipline, conformity, and brief rebellion. By reimagining school settings and archetypes, it explores how uniforms shape identity, friendship, and memory. DRESS:CODED encourages viewers to reflect on the experience of wearing the same attire daily and the ways in which we still sought to stand out.

Reimagining girlhood and identity through the rules, rituals, and rebellion of singapore’s school uniform culture.
